Summer Associate Legal Fellowship

Spend a Summer on the Front Lines of Public-Interest Law

The Summer Associate Legal Fellowship gives law students the opportunity to explore a career in public-interest law through a ten-week summer position with a host organization following their first or second year of law school. It is the first stage of the Bradley Legal Fellows pipeline — where many fellows begin building careers in public-interest law.

Benefits

• A $10,000 stipend from The Bradley Foundation, paid to the fellow by the host organization

• Ten weeks of hands-on experience inside a leading public-interest legal organization, working on cases of local, state, or federal significance that defend liberty and our Constitutional Order — plus participation in the Summer Associate Legal Fellows Conference in Milwaukee and ongoing cohort networking

Eligibility

• Completion of the first or second year of law school by the start of the fellowship

• Summer employment secured with a host organization before applying jointly with that organization

Application & Participation Timeline

• December 1 — applications open

• February 9 — applications close

• February 16 — fellows and organizations notified

• May–June — fellowships begin on a date chosen by the fellow and host organization

• June 18–19 — Summer Associate Legal Fellows Conference in Milwaukee (attendance expected)

• August 1 — end-of-fellowship surveys due
