Summer Associate Legal Fellowship
Spend a Summer Immersed in Public Interest Law
The Summer Associate Legal Fellowship gives law students the opportunity to explore a career in public-interest law through a ten-week summer position with a host organization following their first or second year of law school. It is the first stage of the Bradley Legal Fellows pipeline where many fellows begin building careers in public-interest law.
Benefits

The Bradley Foundation makes grants to public-interest law firms and similar organizations, which provide a $10,000 stipend to each selected Summer Associate Legal Fellow.

Ten weeks of hands-on experience inside a leading public-interest legal organization working on cases of local, state, or federal significance that defend liberty and our Constitutional Order

Participation in the Summer Associate Legal Fellows Symposium in Milwaukee and ongoing cohort networking
Eligibility
-
Completion of the first or second year of law school by the start of the fellowship

Summer employment secured with a host organization before applying jointly with that organization
How to Apply
Prospective Summer Associate Legal Fellows apply jointly with their host organization by submitting the required application materials.

500-word essay on their interest in public-interest law and how the Fellowship will advance their career goals

Statement of support from the host organization
Application & Participation Timeline

December 1 — applications open

February 9 — applications close

February 16 — fellows and organizations notified

May–June — fellowships begin on a date chosen by the fellow and host organization

June 18–19 — Summer Associate Legal Fellows Symposium in Milwaukee (attendance expected)
