A Tribute to Walter E. Williams

W_Williams_SpeechThe Lynde and Harry Bradley Foundation honors the life of Walter E. Williams, a 2017 Bradley Prize winner and the John M. Olin Distinguished Professor of Economics at George Mason University since 1980. Known to countless students, scholars, and colleagues as a consummate scholar and a committed teacher, he was equally revered for his fearless defense of liberty through times of national opportunity or cultural tumult. The Bradley Foundation was especially grateful to Professor Williams for his participation in the Bradley Graduate and Postgraduate Fellowship Program, through which he guided so many students to successful careers. The holder of numerous national awards and honorary degrees, Professor Williams never forgot that he came from humble roots in Philadelphia. He believed deeply in the value of hard work and in the promise of America. Long may we be inspired by his legacy.
