Meir Soloveichik is the rabbi of Congregation Shearith Israel in New York, the oldest Jewish congregation in the United States, and Director of the Straus Center for Torah and Western Thought at Yeshiva University.  He is a Senior Fellow at Tikvah, an educational institution and think tank dedicated to preserving and advancing the foundational ideas of Jewish history and of Western Civilization.

Rabbi Soloveichik's writings focus on a wide range of subjects, including theology, the history of religion, the impact of the Bible on the American Founding, and the uniquely American vision of religious liberty. His articles have been published numerous times in the Wall Street Journal, as well as in the New York Times, Commentary, for which he is a columnist, the Free Press, National Review, and many other publications. His books include Providence and Power: Ten Portraits in Jewish Statesmanship, for which he was featured in the Wall Street Journal for providing “lessons in leadership from the Hebrew Bible.”

In 2019-2020, Rabbi Soloveichik served as a member of State Department's Commission on Unalienable Rights, created by then-Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.  In 2024, he was appointed by then-Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom, and served as the commission's Vice-Chair.  In 2025, he was appointed by President Trump to the Department of Justice's Religious Liberty Commission.  In 2018, Rabbi Soloveichik was awarded the Canterbury Medal for his commitment to the cause of religious freedom by the Becket Fund.

Rabbi Soloveichik has lectured around the world about faith, the Bible, the American Founding, and religious history.  He is known for his devotion to Jewish-Christian engagement, meeting in public conversation with prominent American religious leaders. Rabbi Soloveichik has spoken about the biblical moral vision at the Vatican, and at Christian colleges and universities across America and in Europe. His podcasts for Tikvah include "Bible 365," a daily lesson covering the entire Hebrew Bible in year, and "Poetry and Prayer," a daily journey through the Psalms.

Rabbi Soloveichik graduated summa cum laude from Yeshiva University, was ordained by Yeshiva's rabbinical seminary, and received a PhD in religion from Princeton University.
