ON-Lion Letter
As Memorial Day marked the start of Summer 2011, Milwaukee County reopened the Hoyt Park pool in Wauwatosa, Wis.  In 2003, the county closed the pool, which was built in 1939, due to structural problems.

The Friends of Hoyt Park & Pool led a campaign to renovate and reopen the Hoyt Pool, which now features heated water, competitive lap lanes, water slides, zero-depth entry, a sand play area, and other aquatic-center features.

The Lynde and Harry Bradley Foundation in Milwaukee supported the Friends of Hoyt Park & Pool's efforts to reopen the pool.
Before it was closed, the Hoyt Pool was considered the largest outdoor pool in Wisconsin.
