The Purple Comet! Math Meet had another successful year in 2011.  The meet is a free, on-line, international, team mathematics competition for middle- and high-school students or home-schooled students who are at a comparable level.  This year, close to 10,000 participants on more than 2,200 teams from 39 countries took part.

Conducted by the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, the competition was from April 4 through 12.  The most teams came from the United States, Turkey, Canada, Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia, Taiwan, and Romania.

The Lynde and Harry Bradley Foundation in Milwaukee supports the Purple Comet! Math Meet, which began in 2003.
