Oregon Public Broadcasting (OPB) announced in mid-May that it will distribute the Islam vs. Islamists:  Voices from the Muslim Center documentary under an agreement reached with the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB).

One of Islam vs. Islamists's producers is Frank Gaffney, a former U.S. Department of Defense official and president of the Center for Security Policy (CSP) in Washington, D.C., which is supported by The Lynde and Harry Bradley Foundation in Milwaukee.  Its other producers are former RAND Corporation analyst Alex Alexiev and veteran filmmaker Martyn Burke.

The film contends that moderate Muslims are being intimidated into silence by radical Islamists in several Western democracies, including the United States.  OPB will also produce a panel discussion about issues raised in the 52-minute film that will run immediately afterwards.

PBS refused to air Islam vs. Islamists, calling it "alarmist and overreaching."  CPB had invested a total of $675,000 in helping Gaffney, Alexiev, and Burke put it together as part of the larger "America at a Crossroads" series about the challenges facing the U.S. in our post-9/11 world.
