ON-Lion Letter
Taxpayers are thoroughly scrutinizing the contents of the 334-page, $825 billion federal economic-stimulus package, which have been posted online at ReadtheStimulus.org.  The website was put together by a coalition of think tanks and activist groups.

A growing group of virtual volunteers is helping the coalition study the massive legislation in detail and collectively creating a searchable public database of the spending projects they find in it.  The project is an example of "crowd-sourcing" –- taking advantage of the knowledge, experience, and insights of up to thousands of people by posting a massive document on the Internet.

Very, very few, if any, of the individual Senators and Representatives who will actually vote on the bill will have been able to devote the same energy to learning about and understanding it.

The coalition's members include Citizens Against Government Waste, Americans for Prosperity, The Club for Growth, FreedomWorks, The Heritage Foundation, Lighthouse Strategies and Consulting, the National Taxpayers Union, RedState.com, Taxpayers for Common Sense, and Top Conservatives on Twitter.

The Lynde and Harry Bradley Foundation in Milwaukee supports the FreedomWorks Foundation, The Heritage Foundation, and projects of the Americans for Prosperity Foundation.
