Kyle Weaver is the first alumni of Milwaukee's Running Rebels basketball program to be drafted by a National Basketball Association team.  A former guard for Washington State University's Cougars, Weaver was selected by the Charlotte Bobcats as the No. 38th overall pick in the in the second round of the 2008 NBA draft in late June.

Weaver became a part of the Running Rebels program in 2000.  A Beloit, Wis., native, he came in contact with the program while competing in local tournaments.  He was invited to be a part of its elite traveling team.

Weaver and his family believed he would benefit from being a part of the Running Rebels, through which he gained national exposure competing at the highest level of amateur competition.  He has continued to make the program proud on and off the court throughout his basketball career -- from a high-school standout to a college standout all the way to the NBA.

The Lynde and Harry Bradley Foundation in Milwaukee supports the Running Rebels Community Organization, which is dedicated to developing the city's youth mentally, physically, and spiritually.
