In November, The Federalist Society for Law & Public Policy Studies' 2016 National Lawyers Convention in Washington, D.C., will focus on "The Jurisprudence and Legacy of Justice Scalia."

The convention's Annual Dinner will feature the late Antonin Scalia's longtime colleague on the U.S. Supreme Court, Justice Clarence Thomas.  Its Barbara K. Olson Memorial Lecture will be delivered by U.S. Sen. Ben Sasse of Nebraska.  Other major addresses will be given by Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito and Gov. Nikki Haley of South Carolina.

Showcase Session topics will include "Justice Scalia:  Text Over Intent and the Demise of Legislative History," "Rules Versus Standards in Constitutional and Statutory Interpretation," "Transforming Statutory Interpretation," and a roundtable on "Ares of Constitutional Doctrine Transformed."
