ON-Lion Letter

The final count by Clyde Wayne Crews of the Competitive Enterprise Institute (CEI) in Washington, D.C., of the number of pages in the Federal Register in 2015 is 82,036 -- 600 more than the previous record in 2010.  Of the seven all-time-high Federal Register page counts, six have come during the Obama Administration.

Among 2015's pages are 3,378 final rules and regulations, according to CEI.  Of those final rules, 545 are recognized as having effects on small businesses.  Some rules this year have been especially hefty, such as the Environmental Protection Agency's Clean Power Plan and its Waters of the United States rule, and the Federal Communications Commission's "net-neutrality" order.

The Lynde and Harry Bradley Foundation in Milwaukee substantially supports CEI.
