In May, City Year Milwaukee held a fifth-anniversary celebration at the historic Turner Hall Ballroom in Milwaukee.  The "Ripples of Hope" dinner, infused with energy and idealism from City Year Milwaukee's 85 corps members, celebrated the positive impact these members are having on the lives of Milwaukee students.  The ripples of hope they cause are helping to make real, lasting change in our community.

One of the largest AmeriCorps programs in the country, City Year enables its members to serve as full-time tutors, mentors, and role models in high-need urban schools.

As part of the celebration, City Year Milwaukee honored Julia A. Uihlein for her longstanding support, recognizing her preeminent role in establishing and guiding the organization in the city.  Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett and Milwaukee Public Schools Superintendent Darienne Driver welcomed attendees.

Milwaukee's Lynde and Harry Bradley Foundation substantially supports City Year Milwaukee.
