The first annual Fresh Coast Basketball Classic will bring four teams from historically black colleges and universities to Milwaukee's Midwest Airlines Center during Thanksgiving Weekend for a tournament and other events -- including a high-school slam-dunk contest for boys, a high-school shootout for girls, a coach's clinic, a step show, a comedy show, and a college-recruitment fair featuring current student-athletes and alumni.

The four tournament teams are the Marauders from Central State University in Wilberforce, Ohio, the Blue Devils of Dillard University in New Orleans, the Dragons of Lane College in Jackson, Tenn., and the Lions of Langston University in Langston, Okla.

The Fresh Coast Basketball Classic is similar to other events that are held in Indianapolis, Louisville, and elsewhere.  It is being run by Milwaukee's Running Rebels Community Organization, which is supported by The Lynde and Harry Bradley Foundation.

With it, the Running Rebels group is bringing the atmosphere of traditional black colleges to the city's youth.

Tickets are purchasable online.
