The Greg Jennings Foundation in Kalamazoo, Mich., has awarded several "Be Great After School" program grants as part of its "Be Great" Youth Initiative.  Nine organizations in Wisconsin and Michigan received a total of $50,000 in funding to support specific youth-education projects, including Milwaukee's Above the Clouds arts program.

Greg Jennings is a wide receiver for the playoff-bound Green Bay Packers.  The goal of his foundation's "Be Great" Youth Initiative is to identify and partner with effective organizations that empower and inspire children to fulfill their potential.  The "Be Great After School" grants were awarded to groups in Wisconsin and Michigan that work with K-12 students in the areas of academic achievement, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, and college readiness.

Above the Clouds provides more than 500 students from central-city Milwaukee and surrounding areas with a quality, fine-arts education free of charge in eight locations.  It is a partner agency in the Holton Youth & Family Center.  Milwaukee's Lynde and Harry Bradley Foundation supports both Above the Clouds and the Holton Youth & Family Center.

"I would like to personally congratulate all of the recipients on behalf of my foundation," Jennings said.  "I am glad we are able to support organizations that will offer quality educational services for youth in Wisconsin and my hometown Kalamazoo, Michigan."
