ON-Lion Letter
"We have been busier than ever pursuing our goal of making serious books for serious readers," writes Encounter Books president and publisher Roger Kimball at the beginning of its Fall-Winter 2012 catalog.  "I am delighted to report that we have a cornucopia of incisive reflections on the burning issues of the day."

Encounter is an activity of Encounter for Culture and Education, a nonprofit group that is substantially supported by The Lynde and Harry Bradley Foundation in Milwaukee.  Bradley also supports FIRE, the Hudson Institute, and The New Criterion, of which Kimball is editor and publisher.
