In late February, for the first time, neighborhood teens held a "Teen Haven" session at the Risen Savior Lutheran Church & School's new community center in Milwaukee.  The center has a pool table, a foosball table, two big-screen televisions (one for Xbox games), laptop computers, a study area, and a dining area.

Risen Savior is a hub of its far northwest-side neighborhood, offering programs to school families and other residents -- including the "Teen Haven" program, a food pantry, an employment program, a program to prevent domestic violence prevention, a health clinic, and a pregnancy-education program for women.

Local police officers joined the teens for dinner during the "Teen Haven" session, which used to be held in Risen Savior's church basement.

Milwaukee's Lynde and Harry Bradley Foundation supports Risen Savior, including by helping it purchase the building for the community center.
