The Foundation for Defense of Democracies' (FDD's) December Washington Forum 2011 policy summit, "Ideology, Power, and Alliances in a Changing Middle East," explored policy options for the challenges facing the world's free nations.  It asked how America and its allies can defend themselves and the West.

Among other topics, panels of experts discussed Iran's acceleration of its nuclear-weapons program, Hezbollah's extension of its control of Lebanon, the "Arab revolt" and its impact on the regional balance of power, and the establishment of al-Qaeda cells in many corners of the world.  Keynote addresses were delivered by Ron Prosor, Israel's ambassador to the United Nations, and Puneet Talwar, the White House National Security Council's senior director of the Gulf states, Iran and Iraq.

Video clips of the event are available online.
